JOHOR BARU: Thousands of Johor Darul Tazim (JDT) football team fans made a beeline to the Larkin Stadium here to get their tickets for the 2016 FA Cup Final in Shah Alam on Saturday.

Fans even took extra measures to ensure they would have the tickets by camping at the Larkin Stadium since Sunday, with trader K. Manimaran, 32, from Kulai, waiting patiently for more than 12 hours.

“I was at the stadium since 2pm on Sunday and I thought that I would be first one here but to my surprise, there were already about 10 others already waiting for the tickets.

Hopefully this time around, JDT will win the trophy to make everything worthwhile”, he said when met yesterday.

Housewife Ramsisah Maar, 52, said that she left her house in Taman Universiti at around 6am with her daughter as her husband and son were at work.

After waiting in line for a few hours, she managed to get four tickets for the family, she said.

Fadzlan Rizan Mohd Yusuf, 20, said he has been supporting JDT for the last three years despite coming from Sabah.

“I have been working here for the past two weeks and one of the reasons I moved to Johor is my love for JDT,” he said.

There were no problems and tickets sales went on smoothly with the presence of stadium marshals as well as police personnel.

This is the second time that JDT has qualified for the Final since 2013. The team will face PKNS at the Shah Alam Stadium on May 14.

It was recently reported that the Southern Tigers received the lions share of the tickets after PKNS agreed to give up a major portion of their allocation.

A total of 70,000 tickets will be available for the match, with JDT fans getting 50,000 and PKNS 10,000. The remaining 10,000 will be sold online onwww.tickethotline.com.my.
