TAMPOI, Oct 18, 2014:
A lift carrying 14 people plunged from the fourth floor of the Plaza Angsana shopping mall in Tampoi, Johor Baru, this afternoon around 1.35pm.
A source at the Tampoi district police headquarters, who confirmed the incident, said one of the victims, along with three others, made a police report on the incident at 4.30pm.
According to the report, the victim and 13 others entered the mall’s lift and as soon as it reached the fourth floor, it was believed to have malfunctioned, causing the lift to plunge to the first floor.
After it fell, part of the ceiling of the lift is believed to have fallen onto one of the victims.
“The victim only sustained minor injuries and no fatalities were reported,” said the source.
