Be Careful Guys – Special police team to monitor social media abuse
Johor police are going all out against those who spread rumours, lies and derogatory postings on the social media by setting up a special team to monitor the situation.
“In January, 16 cases of derogatory remarks on the Johor royal institution were reported and we have already detained six people who posted the messages,” Comm Wan Ahmad told a press conference after hosting a get-together with the Johor Retired Policemen Association at the Johor Police Contingent headquarters here yesterday.
There were also nine cases of people belittling the police force by using foul words last year, he said.
Comm Wan Ahmad said the freedom to voice one’s opinion should not be used as a licence to criticise or humiliate others on the social media.
